Le Chéile Mentoring & Youth Justice Support Services is a mentoring and family support charity, working with young people and parents involved in or at risk of offending.
Mentors are a trusted and friendly support for a young person or parent, meeting once a week to do activities and work on goals together.  As a mentor, you can make a real difference in a person’s life – mentoring helps reduce a young person’s offending behaviour and supports both young people and parents to make choices that are more positive in their lives.

At Le Chéile we respect and value our volunteers; we offer full training, support, supervision and covers expenses. 

Mentors who volunteer with Le Chéile have an opportunity to:
• Encourage change in the life of a young person/parent
• Be a positive and inspiring role model
• Experience new opportunities and share their stories and skills
• Develop practical experience in the social care and youth justice field
• Develop their personal and professional skill set
• Make a difference in a young person’s/parent’s life
• Volunteering is flexible and can take place during the week, evenings or weekends.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Mentoring takes place during the week, in the evenings and at weekends - it is flexible and negotiable.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
