Description

Limerick’s Citizen Innovation Lab  is a place for observation, co-creation and experimentation in the city. It is a collaboration between the University of Limerick, Limerick City and County Council, and the citizens of Limerick, supporting them to work together on a sustainable future for the city.

Join us as a Public Engagement Assistant to help promote the Citizen Innovation Lab community events!

This role focuses on engaging with the public and showcasing digital technology. Volunteers will assist in events, creating eye-catching displays, facilitating workshops, and connecting with community members.

Note1: We have a calendar of events that start with Culture Night on September 19th. It may be too early to partake dully, but if you are able to come along and see this event.

Note2: This would be based in UL City Campus (Limerick City Centre)

Is training provided?:Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Assisting with events,
  • produce press releases, demos, posters, window graphics etc,
  • Engage with attendees,
  • Facilitate workshops and talks.

  • Learn about Citizen Engagement and Living Labs with the CIL,
  • Learn about Digital Fabrication with the Fab Lab (Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, much more),
  • Gain experience in public engagement,
  • Develop event planning and facilitation skills,
  • Contribute to community awareness of sustainability.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Flexible. Our opening hours are Wed-Sat (10am to 5:30pm), and also Thursday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Some events will be outside this time, depending on availability etc.

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hours p/week
