We are looking for Volunteers for Bocce in Team South Galway, no previous experience of Bocce is required.
Training starts on September 12th from 8pm to 9pm and takes place every Wednesday in the hall in Kilcornan in Clarinbridge.
Bocce is an Italian game. The basic principle of the sport is to roll a Bocce ball closest to the
target ball, which is called a pallina. Bocce as a Special Olympics sport provides people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to have social contact, develop physically and to gain self-confidence. Next to soccer and golf, Bocce in Special Olympics is the third most participated sport in the world.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers will be required to assist at the Bocce training, helping to supervise and prepare the athletes for upcoming events. Training provided.
