Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Volunteer in Mozambique – What You’ll Be Doing

• Dive Into Community Life; Get hands-on with local development projects and community events. Connect with locals and help make real, positive change.
• Support Education & Youth; Help in classrooms, mentor kids, and run fun extracurricular activities. Create learning materials and workshops that actually make a difference.
• Be a Project Hero; Assist with planning and organizing projects. Keep track of progress and share updates with the team.
• Immerse Yourself in Culture; Learn local customs, try new foods, and experience Mozambican life firsthand. Be a bridge for cross-cultural understanding and friendship.
• Grow & Reflect; Keep a journal, share stories, and reflect on your experiences.Attend team discussions and celebrate achievements together.
• Stay Safe & Support Others; Follow all safety guidelines and help keep the group safe. Encourage a respectful, inclusive environment for everyone.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
The overseas project (average 4 weeks) is only one piece of our Volunteer Programme. When you accept the placement you’re signing up to a year long programme. This includes training days, Ireland based volunteer events, Global Citizenship Education workshops and learning about the Sustainable Development Goals. The programme includes mandatory training days in Cork to ensure you are prepared and ready. It also includes creative work: self reflection blogs, photography and videos. You are also required to attend a post programme celebration weekend, to debrief and reflect on your experience alongside your co-volunteers. Volunteer Training commences from February – June 2026 (before overseas departure).
