Description

Volunters needed!! Dundrum Arch Club is a social club for people with an intellectual disability run on a voluntary basis. We are looking for volunteers for 2 hours every Wednesday evening to help in our club. We have an array of activities - bingo, arts & crafts, computers, sports and of course our weekly disco. We also have an annual weekend away and for the past 2 years we have gone to Barrettstown and had a fantastic time. I can honestly say as a volunteer, you get as much out of the club as our members do and make life long friends to.  All volunteers will need to go through the Garda vetting process.

Generally, you pick what best suits you but initally we ask volunteers to help at Bingo and numbers and then move on to arts and crafts. The sports room is also a lot of fun but the competition is high! Our club has over 90 members, each with their own favourite thing to do each Wednesday night. You'll see some of the guys on the dance floor for 2 hours.. some playing tabletennis ... and others just happy to people watch. This club maybe some of the members only social outing per week so it's important we help make it a good night for them. As volunteers, we have so much fun and get so much out of the club.

Skills required for this role:

If you've got some time on a Wednesday night, can talk, laugh, maybe even dance, and be prepared to be beaten at table tennis by some of our Special Olympic athlete's then we'd love to meet you.
