What is a LIO Ambassador?

Using your own experiences of the practicum to give other people an idea of what it is like to be involved in real-world projects with community partners in Limerick city.

Are you:

  • Interested in content-creation and using social media as a communication tool
  • Wanting to use your knowledge and social media skills to promote awareness for the UL international practicum and the work of our community partners
  • Willing to share first-hand information about your LIO experiences while at UL

What does a LIO Ambassador do?

Your contributions are invaluable to us and help us promote the UL practicum experience, raise the profile of Limerick community groups, the city, and communicate with prospective students like yourself.

The main task is to 'Take over' our Social Media (You would be given access to our Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat/Facebook accounts) for the semester.

You should post at least 10 times a week, and also engage with current and prospective students online).

What are the key requirements?

You must be registered on UP4202 UL Practicum – Limerick Inside Out module in UL.

Reliability: If you offer to help with an event you are expected to turn up and be on time. If you have any problems attending or running late, let the member of staff who is organising your activity know.

Professionalism: Student Ambassadors represent UL and the LIO practicum, so we expect you to take your role seriously. 

Communication: Be polite and friendly at all times in person and on our social media, we want you to engage with the people you meet. We expect you to respect different opinions and be sensitive to different cultures. 

Influence:  you are the face of the University and as part of this role, you will relay information about your UL experience to prospective students. You will be highly influential in decisions that have a big impact on the University including a student's decision to study with us
