The Cell EXPLORERS programme (www.cellexplorers.com) is recruiting

Cell EXPLORERS is part of the outreach programme of the School of Natural Sciences and is open to any NUI Galway students or staff. Our team of undergraduates, postgraduates and staff provides School visits and Science Festival workshops.
Every year we offer to postgraduate or postdoctoral scientists the ability to lead small team of demonstrators for our school visit roadshow or our science workshops. The involvement is flexible and tailored to researcher’s timetable. You can check our website for information on last year’s team leaders involved in the Fantastic DNA roadshow (https://www.cellexplorers.com/single-post/2017/09/01/Meet-our-NUIGalway-Team-leaders). The leaflet is part of our teacher’s package given at each visit and will be presented on our website.
Our team members report many benefits from their involvement including the gain of communication skills, an increased confidence, and fulfilment at communicating a subject they are passionate about (see our recent Education presentation poster here: https://goo.gl/ddBoEH).
Note that participation in the programme will qualify for the NUI Galway President’s ALIVE volunteering certificate, or can count for the NUI Galway postgraduate module in science communication - GS536. Also this year we have become GAISCE Challenge Partner.
