Requirements:Because the work is with young people, volunteers will need to be Garda Vetted (don't worry though, we'll manage the paperwork!)

...If so, we would love to have you volunteer with us!

The Junior Cycle Workshop Programme aims to help demystify Higher Education by giving junior cycle students from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to visit the DIT campus and take part in a number of practical workshops.

WHAT’S INVOLVED: Workshops typically last for 1½ hours, followed by a ½ hour activity on campus. Volunteers are needed for workshops, Q&A sessions, and to lead campus tours/activities.

BENEFITS: Volunteers will have an opportunity to develop their leadership skills, gain          facilitation experience, add a line to their CV, and most of all, have an impact on young,                impressionable minds.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Talk about their course

Help out with activities

Lead campus tours

Lead college immersion activities for the visiting Junior Cycle students (if interested)

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
