Making Space Programme
Requirements:Post-grad, Post-doc and Undergrad students, and staff
Through ‘Making Space’ we aim to create and provide a variety of opportunities for engagement with STEM for key target audiences, including under‐represented groups (socially, economically and/or educationally disadvantaged), under-engaged regions in Ireland, i.e. those with no third level institutions or science festivals and a low level of access to outreach/engagement programmes and family's groups who have traditionally had lower levels of engagement with STEM.
Note that participation in the programme will qualify for the NUI Galway President’s ALIVE volunteering certificate, or can count for the NUI Galway postgraduate module in science communication - GS536.

Note that a general information meeting will take place on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 in room PHY102 at 2 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Please note that training will be provided. Tasks may include leading a small team during visits to schools and organisations in Galway.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
For semester 2, activities will take place on Tuesday 10.30am - 12.30pm. We will also have school/organisation visits on different times and dates.
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
